At Discovery Park
I am very over my "downs" as I called them in the last post. I mean, I will still worry a little over them, but I have not let them consume me like I might have in the past. In the past, I let events snowball into something far worse. In fact, all the worrying made the actual stressor far worse. Instead of reaching for a bottle of wine, I took a run on Friday, yoga on Saturday, and a hike on Sunday. And ate plenty of raw food. Including raw chocolate. Jeez, I handle stress so much better than I used to!

Sienna and I take a sprint
Today we took Sienna to Discovery Park to do some hiking and blackberry picking. We had a great picnic of dancing chicken salad (recipe on goneraw.com) on top of a green salad. Then some chocolate Chris made last night. (I went out to get more watermelon and there it was in the fridge!) We walked all along the beach but didn't go on the sand because Sienna isn't allowed on it. Then we got to the fun part, blackberry picking! Only most of the berries were just beyond my reach. Luckily Chris is a few inches taller than me. I didn't dress well for the occasion and got some scratches on my legs. Nothing major though. Sienna kept getting stuck in the grass behind the big brambles. She was not even close to being as tall as some of those prickers shooting up from the ground, surrounding the delicious berries like a force field.
Oh and I made some granola, or gRAWnola as some would say. It's so cinnamon-y. It's very lovely on its own or with milk. Recipe re-posted from goneraw.com.

Looks like a great day! It was a great weekend for such fun too. Well, for the most part. :) The granola looks fabulous - I'll have to give it a go once I have all the ingredients.
How long do you soak and sprout your buckwheat?
Glad you are feeling happier! The outing looked so fun! :)
to sprout the buckwheat, i soak for about 6-8 hours then rinse. Then put in the dehydrator for about the same amount of time until dry.
